EMERGENCY DENTAL
Emergency Dental
Dental emergencies can happen anytime. We offer prompt emergency dental care for toothaches, broken teeth, lost fillings, and other urgent dental problems.
A dental emergency can be stressful, but you do not have to manage it alone. Whether you are experiencing severe tooth pain, have knocked out or broken a tooth, lost a filling, or notice swelling in your mouth or face, our team is here to help. Simply call us on (07) 3281 6666 and we will prioritise your care.
When you contact us with an urgent concern, we do our best to see you as quickly as possible. Our first goal is always to get you comfortable and address your pain, then we will assess the situation and explain your treatment options clearly.
While you are waiting to see us, there are a few things you can do. For a knocked out tooth, gently rinse it without scrubbing, place it back in the socket if possible, or keep it moist in milk. For pain or swelling, a cold compress on the outside of your cheek can provide some relief. Avoid very hot or cold foods if you have a broken tooth.
Dental emergencies are often more manageable than they first seem. Our calm, experienced team will look after you and help you feel at ease. Do not hesitate to reach out, even if you are unsure whether your situation is an emergency. We would rather hear from you and help you find peace of mind.

PATIENT EXPERIENCES
We value the trust our patients place in our team. Here's a selection of feedback from people we care for in Ipswich.
What counts as a dental emergency?
Common dental emergencies include severe tooth pain, a knocked out or broken tooth, a lost filling or crown, swelling in the mouth or face, and bleeding that will not stop. If you are unsure, call Grange Road Dental on (07) 3281 6666 and we can help you decide whether you need urgent care.
Can you see me on the same day?
We do our best to see emergency patients as quickly as possible, often on the same day. Call us on (07) 3281 6666 and we will arrange a priority appointment for you.
What should I do if a tooth is knocked out?
Handle the tooth by the crown (not the root), gently rinse it without scrubbing, and try to place it back in the socket if possible. If you cannot, keep it moist in milk and get to us as quickly as you can. Time is important for the chances of saving the tooth.
What should I do for dental pain before I can get to the practice?
Over-the-counter pain relief such as ibuprofen or paracetamol can help manage pain temporarily. A cold compress on the outside of your cheek may reduce swelling. Avoid very hot or cold foods and contact us as soon as you can.
Do I need to be an existing patient to get emergency dental care?
No. We welcome both existing and new patients for emergency dental care. Simply call us on (07) 3281 6666 and we will do our best to see you promptly.
