We offer two whitening options to suit your lifestyle. In-chair whitening is completed in a single appointment at our Ipswich clinic, giving you immediate results. Take-home whitening kits use custom-fitted trays that you wear for short periods over one to two weeks, allowing you to whiten gradually at your convenience.
Some people experience temporary tooth sensitivity during whitening, which is completely normal and settles quickly. We will discuss this with you beforehand and can adjust your treatment if needed. Results vary depending on the type of staining, and we will give you realistic expectations during your consultation.
Whitening works best on natural teeth that have become stained from coffee, tea, red wine, or simply over time. If you have fillings, crowns, or veneers on visible teeth, we will explain how whitening may affect your overall result.

How white will my teeth get?
Results vary depending on the type and severity of staining. During your consultation at Grange Road Dental, we will give you a realistic expectation of what whitening can achieve for your teeth. Most patients see a noticeable improvement in brightness.
What is the difference between in-chair and take-home whitening?
In-chair whitening is completed in a single appointment at our clinic, giving you immediate results. Take-home whitening uses custom-fitted trays that you wear for short periods over one to two weeks, allowing you to whiten gradually at home.
Will whitening make my teeth sensitive?
Some people experience temporary sensitivity during or after whitening, which is completely normal and typically settles within a day or two. We can adjust your treatment if sensitivity is a concern.
Does whitening work on crowns or fillings?
Whitening works on natural tooth structure only. Existing crowns, fillings and veneers will not change colour. If you have restorations on visible teeth, we will discuss how this may affect your overall result during your consultation.
How long do whitening results last?
Results can last from several months to a few years, depending on your diet and oral care habits. Avoiding frequent consumption of coffee, tea and red wine helps maintain brightness. Touch-up treatments are available when needed.
